Aam Aadmi Party and the Kashmir Issue - An In-depth study

In the whole great Incredible, Diverse India, what is so special about Kashmir that made an emperor say the famous lines…If there is Heaven on earth, it is here…I could not experience firsthand, sadly, because the heaven had been trampled upon by terrible forces.

My first visit to Kashmir in May2013 surpassed all my expectations. But it did not come easy. Violent protests were on. Hotel bookings could not be finalised because of uncertainty. I am so glad that we did not cancel the tickets! I  promised my children that we would come back to this very place, in May2015.

I pray that next time, I won't have to worry about cancelling my tickets. I will return to a peaceful and happier place that is rightly called a heaven.

So when Kashmir started being discussed on twitter, for comments made by a leader of the new Political party on the scene, It made me do some research and go deeper. And a Pandora’s box opened before my eyes! What prompted me to go deeper was one image on twitter, showing a separatist party’s workers supporting Aam Aadmi Party campaign.

Putting my research in a logical sequence made everything crystal-clear. I have taken care that the content presented here is based on Facts. As credible as a real Aam Aadmi’s limited sources of information allow. That is, news, pdf documents and rarely views. (Even slightly Subjective links, or my comments, if any, are put in italics, included sparingly to allow a smooth flow of narrative)

The Sequence of Events that points to the Connection between the rise of AAP , the Separatist movement in Kashmir and The soft foreign policy of UPA government, which concedes to the vision of USA for South Asia

( Note: If any link provided in this article is not working, see the Annexure, dated January26, 2014 for screen shots and for more updates)

Map of India as it appears on US Government website
USA vision of South Asia favours resolution of conflict and not just “Management of Conflict”, as approached by India. (Not scope of this article to go deeper in this)
There is also such mention in Ford foundation sponsored NGO’s Annual Report –
Stiching PANOS South Asia
(Search the document with keyword 'Kashmir')

Ford Foundation's approach towards issues in India is explained in much detail in this blog, including it's connection with the Indian activists.

Was UPA conducive to this vision? According to this article in Kashmir herald, "PM  ManmohanSingh's dream for South Asia region...Congress seems to have agreed in ‘principle’ to the out-of-the-box Kashmir solution"

The idea by Sajad Lone (Son of Shaheed-e-Hurriyat Abdul Gani Lone) is proposed in detail in this e-book
Idea of Sovereignty for Kashmir: Achievable Nationhood

India, Pak agreed on Self-governance for Kashmir: Kasuri ( Full NDTV video- 18 minutes)
India and Pakistan very close to solving the Kashmir dispute and the draft agreement had the backing of Pakistan's present Army Chief General Kiyani. This was the revelation made by Pakistan's former foreign Minister Khursheed Mehmood Kasuri on NDTV. It also finds mention in Wikileaks.

See the most important part in this video (3.24 minutes)

Is this approach questioned by Honourable Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Shri Arun Jaitley?
He writes in his blog, after PM’s press-conference
The Most Important Sentence in the Prime Minister’s Press Conference
A media person asked the Prime Minister  a question  on his  Pakistan initiatives.  The Prime Minister revealed for the first time that secret envoys from India and Pakistan had almost arrived at a meeting to resolve the conflict on Kashmir. When  a break through appeared ‘in sight’,  General Pervez Musharraf had to make way for other leaders  and the agreement got blocked.  A few years ago when President Musharraf  was living in exile in London he had given a similar indication .
What was this possible resolution on Kashmir ?  The people of India  are entitled to know an answer to this question."

·     Jihad and Dialog - Can't RunParallel This link makes many startling Revelations about India's foreign policy – Pakistan - USA connection, which we may not be able to read in publications with nation-wide presence.

·        PM ManMohanSingh’s approach on foreign policy is also heavily criticised within Kashmir, in very strong words. PM ManmohanSingh's Faulty Pakistan Policy- This link from Kashmir Herald mentions that Pakistan’s weapons and delivery system are India-specific
Any political party in India obviously can not support this view. To quote Shri Arun Jaitley again, “The stated position of India has been very clear.  Jammu & Kashmir is an integral part of India.  In 1994 the Indian Parliament had passed a unanimous resolution asserting  that POK  was an integral part of India’s territory.  India firmly believes  that no third party intervention in Kashmir is permissible.  Pakistan has an unfinished agenda on Kashmir.  It has not reconciled to Kashmir being integral to India’s sovereignty. It has used warfare and terrorism  to achieve this end. India firmly believes that the age and era  of re-drawing boundaries is over. India’s negotiating space on territory in the context of Kashmir resolution is negligible.”

A manipulative Proxy is found in Arvind Kejriwal, who was closely associated with drafting of RTI Act with National Advisory Committee. He has never denied that his transfer was stopped on the request of Smt. Sonia Gandhi. ( Not going deeper to keep the narrative short, and to not divert from the main point)

·         Rahul Kanwal’s article on India Today where he questions whether AAP is another front of Congress.
Arvind Kejriwal’s ambitious approach but flickering commitment on various issues, shows that Anti-Corruption issue is just a façade, and only being used as steps to rise higher by gaining popular support by exploiting sentiments of people .

See links below:

  • Kejriwal's lies exposed by Rajat Sharma. Must see how  he struggles to answer questions on the credibility of AAP candidates, involved in alleged crimes. For him, "Internal Inquiries" are Good enough for ensuring credibility.

  • This blog presents a detailed study on the phenomenon AAP and Arvind Kejriwal as a person, over a period of many years.
  • Real face of Arvind Kejriwal : a video presentation
  • This purely fact-based blog, at the time of writing had chronicled just first 3 days of AAP in Delhi government, and already showed at least 4 issues on which there is evidence of the flippant manners of the party and its leaders.
This presentation sums up the Mis-Governance, insincerity  and Anarchist approach of AAP
  •  If AAP is fearless and is with common man of India, why does this incident occur, where the family of the child whose ball hit an AAP laeder’s car has to live in fear.
  • ‘India Against Corrupion’ funds misused for political ambitions.

Read this long but very important analysis by India’s security expert Col. RSN singh.
Team members Manish Sisodia, Prashant Bhushan, as well as Arvind Kejriwal himself support separatist views.

AAP has also received funds from Pakistan

Separatists see ray of hope in AAP as it makes a mark on Delhi politics, as indicated by these links.

  • Appeared in Greater Kashmir: No one will argue that Kashmiris must stop wanting clean Government as it distracts from the separatist movement
  • Also in Greater KashmirShouldn’t separatist leaders have an escape route, in the event India and Pakistan reconcile? AAP comes as breath of fresh air.
  • Another news in Greater Kashmir: Sajad Lone (Son of Shaheed-e-Hurriyat Abdul Gani Lone) and Author of “Achievable Nationhood Sees hope in AAP
  • Same news in a newspaper with nation-wide circulation- The Indian Express.
But these are the views of Separatists within Kashmir. What is Pakistan's official view?
If Prashant Bhushan's views about Referendum  in Kashmir were his personal views, how does according to official media channel of Pakistan, their Government representatives are supporting AAP's demands?

Radio Pakistan: Pakistan has urged India to listen to Aam Aadmi Party's demand about plebiscite in Kashmir

When asked about Arvind Kejriwal’s views on Pakistan, he evades the query and insists coming back to the point of Delhi elections. When the TV anchor insists on his questions about topics of National Importance, he leaves the studio. Watch the video

Connection with the Ford Foundation and why it is a cause of Concern

Manish Sisodia and Arvind Kejriwal’s NGO Kabir received funds from Ford Foundation.
Why the need to hide if motives were good?

Ford foundation's views on Kashmir, as indicated by the study on Kashmir issue, which was funded by Ford Foundation, and the Organisation  that it sponsors are obvious. Ford foundation's project PANOS South Asia's involvement in Kashmir is mostly India-Pak 'Conflict Resolution' as you can find by opening it's annual report linked above, and run a search with the word "Kashmir".

Kejriwal's Close Aide Manish (Sisodia?)  arranged a  meeting of Rashid of Awami Ittihad with Arvind Kejriwal before entering electoral politics in Delhi.

Who is Abdul Rashid? (Origin of AIP)

President of Awami Ittehad party and MLA Langate, Abdul Rashid, a supporter of Afzal Guru, said at the time of inception of his party, that they will try best to give Kashmiris what ‘Hind Nawaz’ (PDP, NC, Cong, others) and ‘Hurriyat Nawaz’ (separatists) have failed at. “Our party will bring revolution and change the political map of Kashmir…We will also fight against human rights violations and demand revocation of Public Safety Act and Armed Forces Special Powers Act…”

In this Kashmir Reporter news, Abdul Rashid claimed that Arvind Kejriwal got inspiration from him. He also said, “The change which started in Kashmir has reached New Delhi. I hope it will influence the attitude of politicians there and be beneficial for Kashmir. When I met Kejriwal, we discussed various issues and I told him to raise the voice for Kashmir.”

Now, we appreciate if someone argues that Abdul Rashid may not be a significant entity in Kashmir. But, the intention and ideology of AAP stands exposed by these news. And come to think of it, who would have predicted a year back that Arvind Kejriwal can be a Chief Minister?

After much drama, Arvind Kejriwal became Delhi CM, with support from the Congress. Since then they have been flipping over on various issues.

Anti-corruption pages from AAP website deleted,
thus raising doubts on their main agenda of fighting corruption .
Arvind Kejriwal’s controversial Gaziabad speech about national issues, the text of which I couldn’t find, and petition against which is dismissed and later withdrawn, but which was questioned by Dr Harshvardhan recently, points to their true ideology.

Prashant Bhushan’s Kashmir views are well known, and are reconfirmed by his recent statement on referendum.

Awaami Ittihad Party Leader Abdul Rashid said he could consider Pre-poll alliance if AAP views on Kashmir matches their views, of seeing Kashmir as disputed territory. They were to meet soon in Delhi, as per news in Kashmir newspapers, published on January 1, 2014. Were Prashant Bhushan comments in sync with the conditions put up by Awaami Ittehad for a handshake?

This is based on the following news links.

  • In Greater Kashmir: AIP will ally with any party that accepts Kashmir as disputed
  • In Kashmir Life: AIP mulling to join AAP. Rashid to meet Kejriwal in New Delhi
There is no reply on my queries on twitter about Awaami Ittihad from Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, Kumar Vishwas, Mayank Gandhi or even Meera Sanyal ( Sorry to say). Not even a simple ‘No Comments’ reply or even re-assuring “Don’t worry, it is not AAP stand” denial. Also, the image that I mentioned at the beginning, the one with AAP Campaign, with Abdul Rashid’s name on AAP banner, as my prompt for deeper search, has since been seemingly deleted from twitter as well as from the internet. Are they hiding something? What happened off-the-records?

Despite Arvind Kejrival and associates' non-committal approach on issues of National Importance, AAP clearly has ambitions for making a mark in National Politics. Initial refusal by Arvind Kejriwal to contest Lok Sabha election may turn out to be a drama, as usual. In fact, in just 2-3 days, we see news like these:
  • Times of India news: Arvind Kejriwal asked to rethink refusal to fight Lok Sabha polls
  • Economic Times news AAP keen to project Arvind Kejriwal as PM candidate
Possible Conclusion:
All this, appears to be an agenda to put hurdles in path of Narendra Modi led BJP (Link to Mani Shankar Aiyar's statement).  It can help UPA3 composed of Congress with AAP and other allies, present and new, to clear Kashmir issue in compliance with USA’s views on South Asia, for short term gains. It will also help to cover-up many Congress scams forever if they are able to maintain power.

I share this here, as I strongly feel the responsibility to do so, as an aware citizen of India. I will hit the ‘Publish’ button on this blog in a few minutes now, with a prayer that the dangerous design, that is apparent from the above information, does not play out in reality.

Vote for a Better India!

May the Truth prevail...

  1. Impressive piece of work based on facts and detailed analysis of the content resources. I am of the view that Arvind Kejriwal is a pawn in the hands of Sonia Gandhi because of his proximity during the formation of the RTI Act 2005. What makes me more suspicious about the secret deal is that Congress offered the support without asking for it as also unconditional. This is unheard of any political party.

There has been no consistency with that Arvind Kejriwal has been taking post Anna Lokpal movement. First he said he is not interested to join politics, then he said he has no option but to contest elections. Having done so, he then pretended that he will not seek support of either Congress or BJP, swears on the head of his children publicly, but chose former at the drop of his hat. Public referendum was just a gimmick to buy time.

On one hand he said he had proof of Rs.700 Crore corruption against Shiela Dixit and then he asks Dr. Harsh Vardhan to get him the proof. He behaves like Marxist distributing freebies without even earning it. He know there is regulator for electricity i.e. DERC and the power companies are private, still he promises to reduce the tariff by 50%. Water would cost him Rs.384 Crore per annum roughly to distribute 700 lit free every day to each family still he makes promises.

He has no idea how will this water reach to slums and would be distributing it to middle class only. His first Janta Darbar at Sachiwalaya was a total failure and he had no idea how to organise it. Silly, that he can not organise and manage such a small public Darbar and he aspires going national ?

The list is too long to narrate but i would only make a humble request to the people that don't get carried away by the populist and marxist agenda of such people as it is very dangerous for our country. Jai Hind Jai Bharat

    1. Thanks for your detailed comment, Mr.Khushu,
It is obvious that Aam Aadmi Party is taking undue advantage of people's trust in them. I hope people take an informed view of the situation. I added my bit towards that cause. I am encouraged by your kind appreciation.
      Jai Bharat!

  2. Dr.Palak Ganatra11 January 2014 at 12:49

    Excellently Put Up !!
I am of the Opinion, Any Unbiased Mind could see and should make others see
the reality of AAP. An Effort to make others see needs a lot to put in,Loved the way its written with facts!

Only A blind would Not be able to see dis,
It can Cost Us Kashmir !!??
Is it Not Intelligent to let them work In Delhi and Prove their efficiency?
Anyways In last fortnight they have Just been a TV show ran on all #MSM
with a new twist /rather a new flopshow of which people will soon get bored !

To End it, I would Just Like to add
I havent visited KASHMIR yet and I would Pray to every Indian to be
Sensible enough to VOTE and bring stable goverment rather thn coalition.
SO Like ME many who are dreaming to go KASHMIR can still keep Hopes alive!
    Jai Hind

    1. Exactly my thoughts, Dr.Palak. It is because of apathy of people that some are able to play unethical politics. All the citizens of India must excercise their right, (rather, fulfill their duty to Vote. Only then, we will be able to live with our head held high, without fear and visit each and every region of Incredible India and return with Happy, peaceful, sweet memories. Jai Hind.

  3. Excellent write-up.

I always had reservations about AAP and I don't subscribe to there policies of freebies, subsidies and reservations. It is important that the very social media and media (may be / may not be paid)they are using to influence the voters is used to expose them.

  4. Good one indeed.... Pls write more. Unlike most of the writings we come come across, there is quiet a lot of substance.

What the mainstream media is not showing or speaking about, your research, on Aam AAdmi Party and Kashmir issue, bares the untold intentions of AAP and its members. I believe AAP is a 'motley crowd of motley people' [these were the words used by J.Nehru in Parliament for the erstwhile Swatantra Party founded by the great patriot Rajaji; incidentally Nehru had to withdraw these words after protest and uproar]. I don't see great future for AAP.

  7. My salutations to you ma'm, for this well-researched and well-documented work!

I feel pretty sad for those innumerable dumb-heads among our supposedly educated lot. This reality came out in the open more recently, seeing at the number of educated people falling for the anti-national AAP wiles!

Ideologies aside, the most heart-wrenching aspect is to witness in them, an utter lack of patriotism & nationalism!

It is beyond imagination how can people be so misinformed in today's world of exposure - truly dismaying!

Please keep up your good work and we look for more of these kind from you.

Even if a few such people can see the light at the end of going through your article, your effort can be deemed worthwhile!
    God bless you!

    hare krishna !

    1. Thanks! I hope the situation improves. People with anti-national tendencies are stopped in tracks, or better still, they introspect and mend their ways. Either way, awareness among people is of importance.
      Hare Krishna!

  8. Salute you Bhairavi... excellent work. All Indians who have the intellect to see through the games being played against our motherland at multiple levels should do the utmost to spread awareness...that is the only way. I hope you shall continue this endeavor even when pessimism sneaks in....for victory will surely follow.

  9. Excellent compilation of facts...India has to rise up..

  10. very good work. was looking for such articles

  11. Good one, Keep Writing.

  12. Good one.. Can you please write similar kind of blog against SP, BJP, Congress? AAP may only be speaking anti national..These parties has already done anti national during various riots... Will you be able to speak against them?

    1. Also, as for criticising various political parties, I agree no one person or organization is perfect, but people should vote for whom they believe is in the interest of the nation. And this is not a political blog, but on various research based findings which I may feel can be valuable if shared with more people...the first work just happened to be political. May be the next blogpost will be on environment protection or economics...hope you'll like my this space... :-)

  13. Most of the facts are not correct... Most of the damage you are taking about, will only be done in future with all assumption.. I can say only one thing.. Hopeless!! Thanks Bhairavi...

    1. Thanks for your candid comments, Mr.Singh. I have only questioned AAP's intentions here, actually hoping that 'possible conclusion' does Not play out inreality. As for being factually correct, they are as credible as I can find without filing an RTI application. Otherwise there are many blogs criticising various political parties. I've not drawn from opinion blogs. I have just presented in a logical order the leads which I found, and were already inpublic domain, but not talked about.

  14. Yes They played with the emotions of the people. Its just people hate congress and BJP, without another choice (in the hope) voted AAP. In simple words AAP symbol (Broom) in in the HAND ( symbol) of congress and Hand directs the Broom always. The youth who has the power to change india are found either in social networking sites or think of getting settled in abroad. India is already sold and we are just making a failed attempt to save it. People today don wanna go by facts and figures. Its a slow poison which is injected, now spreading. Mr.Singh You never know what is future, we live in present and are happy with little things we get. India would have been ruled by GB to make life much easier as still they fund their presence ( the architecture built by them in india) in india.

    1. It is this very sense of cynicism and pessimism that we need to come out from. If we all work together for a better society, we can achieve anything we aim for. Then no one will want to settle abroad, losing hope. Do add your bit to the process, rather than getting stuck in colonial past. Thanks for giving me an opportunity to put forward these views by posting your comment.

  15. very poor thought process.....

  16. Well, I support Arvind because what I see in him, is a man capable of action.
I surely am not posting this with any intentions to discourage you and your work and would feel really 'really hurt' if what you have projected, will turn out to be true, some point in future.
But, his attitude of persisting, despite of all the negativity being preached about him makes me admire him even more.
I see every 4 out of 5 people just complaining and criticizing others' work.
In my view "Action beats 'just cribbing and doing nothing productive'"!
But, believe me, if his actions 'go south', there will be people to bring that in check.
Meanwhile, I'll like to see him progress.

    1. We are coming from the same plane, imran. I too hope AK and associates intentions are good and the theory is proven wrong by the real events that will unfold. I have only questioned them. Not drawn hardline conclusions.

    2. Good to know, that it was meant positively.

    3. Imran, Nobody is enemy except we ourselves are our own enemy or friend. Kejriwal has gone upside down, as I say it Jaspal Bhatti style. Please don't believe until you have verified it yourself. The best way, I do, is to do my own home work b4 I accept someone. Google "aap cia ford foundation" and watch the lacs of links that open up. Next, you can build up yourself on any other issues relating...???? Hope it might help you.

  17. I have seen some of the comments that are aimed at discouraging people like you who bring out the truth and the human nature and anatomy is not receptive to such factual revelations. It hits you below the belt. There is something called proactive research that even the intelligence agencies do to rule out the possible threat of any separatist or militant activity, does that mean all that is based on assumptions and should not be done till there is a bomb blast or some militant attack like on Indian Parliament.

What kind of comments do people make ? I am surprised with the level of maturity some people have and are carried away by populist and anarchist agenda of AAP. By that logic, a seasoned, old political stalwart and President of India, Mr. Pranab Mukherjee also should be criticised - isn't it ?

Guys do some introspection if you still think AAP ideology can bring in some change in this country. Forget it. Don't close your eyes to the facts that are not substantive and the flip-flop attitude. This is no way of mature politics. Everytime taking U-Turn is not governance. Ignoring serious debate on Kashmir and Kashmiri Pandits who are homeless for 25 years now. Is this the inclusive and secular belief of AAP ? How can AAP associate itself with a party that is responsible for massacre of Sikhs of this country in 1984 ? Isn't this opportunistic attitude of AAP leadership ? Why didn't AAP do referendum on expulsion of Binny ? Why this hypocrisy ? Please wake-up. JAI HIND & JAI BHARAT

  18. AAP has not shown any maturity in its approach to many national issues. It is getting clearer as the days go by, and as more facts are discovered and events unroll that anti-national leanings of AAP is not a myth. We, as common citizens of India do not know much that is happening off-the-records. Pl see annexure to this post for more updates.
As of now, I will say only one thing. In MereSapnonKaBharat, Kashmiri Pandits will get their homes back and will live happily, without fear, in peace and prosperity.

  20. Bhairaviji,

Indeed you have worked hard behinf this article as I can see from the vast amout of hyperlinks apart from the text and two very valuable videos. I had known the views of Kashuri/Mushraff but hadn'r seen the comerade Kejriwal waliking away. Reasons are obvious. I have learnt quite a few things from you here and I like you to continue your good work exposing these corrupt AAP comies. They are a dangerous kids, that's the best word I can describe them in. They have many hidden agendas and will be disaster for the country.

I suggest you kindly concentrate on this very theme till these elections to help NaMo get a decsnt win. I have taken up the project to expose Teesta Setalvad and Sonia in Godhra and their US connections and issue of visa of NaMo. If you like, kindly peruse the link:

Hence if you concentrate in exposing these AAPtards, it will be tremendous help.
